Thanks to your generosity, the Lamberton Area Community Foundation raised over $9,000 during Give to the Max Day to support critical repairs and improvements for our local pool.
The response was overwhelming. We raised our goal three times throughout the campaign, and each time the community surpassed it. This couldn’t have happened without you stepping up.
The Give to the Max campaign launched the Foundation’s effort to raise $20,000 for pool improvements and repairs, which includes a $10,000 match from the Lamberton Lions Club. With the match, every gift doubled and moved us closer to our goal, ensuring another summer of fun and fitness in the water.
The Community Stepped Up to Retain a Valuable Asset
Our pool is where kids spend their summers and teenagers earn their first paychecks. It’s a place where the community gathers to cool off, stay active and connect with friends.
Since its initial construction in 1964, the pool has attracted residents and non-residents alike to our community for recreation and swimming lessons. While other small towns have watched their pools close, we’ve been able to keep ours open for more than 60 years—twice its life expectancy. It’s the only pool within 20 miles of Lamberton, providing an amenity that drives economic activity and enriches quality of life in our area.
Keeping this asset operational requires ongoing investment. The Pool Committee has identified needs and priorities, making improvements every season. The local school district and the City of Lamberton have supported this pool for decades, and community members and organizations continue to do their part to keep this gathering place running. The Lions Club has made many contributions over the years, including the $10,000 match that made Give to the Max Day so impactful.
In 1964, our community built a pool. Now we’re making sure it’s here to stay.
